The NFL is conducting an investigation into why the Cincinnati Bengals failed to include quarterback Joe Burrow on their injury report this week, despite him being unable to play in Thursday night's loss to the Baltimore Ravens due to a wrist ailment. The investigation was confirmed by a league official who spoke to ESPN on Friday morning.

Before the game, the Bengals had shared a video on Wednesday night showing Burrow disembarking from the team bus with what appeared to be a soft cast on his right hand. However, they later deleted the post.

During the game against the Ravens, Burrow seemed to struggle with the wrist injury before exiting the game in the second quarter. Shortly after halftime, he was officially ruled out from returning.

According to Coach Zac Taylor, preliminary evaluations indicated that Burrow had suffered a sprained right wrist. Burrow was seen wearing a multilayered wrap in the locker room.

Taylor mentioned that Burrow had fallen on his wrist earlier in the game and exhibited serious pain after throwing a 4-yard touchdown pass to Joe Mixon, which turned out to be his final play.

The coach stated that he was unaware of any wrist issue Burrow might have had before the game and expressed confidence in his quarterback's condition leading up to the contest.

The NFL regularly investigates cases involving compliance with its injury report policy. Violations of this policy can result in team fines or the potential loss of a draft pick. During the spring owners meetings, the league issued a warning to teams regarding the requirement to report all injuries.

In 2019, the Pittsburgh Steelers were fined $75,000, and their coach, Mike Tomlin, was fined $25,000 for violating the injury report policy by not accurately listing quarterback Ben Roethlisberger on the practice report before their Week 2 game against the Seattle Seahawks.

Sources: Browns to bring in vet QB Joe Flacco for workout

The Cleveland Browns plan to hold a workout for Super Bowl-winning quarterback Joe Flacco, as reported by ESPN sources.

With Deshaun Watson out for the season due to a fractured throwing shoulder, the Browns are looking to add a third quarterback to their roster. Flacco is currently the only quarterback scheduled for a workout.

The Browns will be starting rookie Dorian Thompson-Robinson against the Pittsburgh Steelers on Sunday. PJ Walker is also on the Browns' roster. Walker previously led the team to come-from-behind victories against the San Francisco 49ers and the Indianapolis Colts while Watson was recovering from a different shoulder injury.

Joe Flacco has an impressive career, having thrown for 42,320 yards and 232 touchdowns. In 2013, he won the Super Bowl and was named the Super Bowl MVP as a member of the Baltimore Ravens.

Flacco, who is 38 years old, most recently started games for the New York Jets during the 2022 season. In Week 2 that year, he led the Jets to a fourth-quarter comeback victory in Cleveland, throwing four touchdown passes, including the game-winning pass to Garrett Wilson with just 22 seconds remaining.

Ravens TE Mark Andrews' season likely over due to ankle injury

Baltimore Ravens coach John Harbaugh announced in a postgame news conference that Pro Bowl tight end Mark Andrews is likely to miss the remainder of the season due to a significant left ankle injury.

Harbaugh described the injury as a form of high ankle injury, more severe than a sprain. Andrews sustained the injury during the game against the Cincinnati Bengals, with Bengals linebacker Logan Wilson executing a tackle that resulted in a "hip drop" motion.
